The Zöhrer Winery is located in the heart of the Kremser Sandgrube grand cru; it proudly bears the address number 1, and the soil surrounding its headquarters—whose family history dates back to 1270—consists largely of thick loess and sand. Reason enough to dedicate a special SAND 1 collection to this tradition, which spans over 740 years.

Tasting Notes from the Cellar Master

An elegant wine with an appealing pink colour. On the nose, pleasant roasted aromas such as cassis; on the palate, reminiscent of rum and coconut, with lovely sweet berry fruit and a fresh, long finish.

Food Recommendation from the Cellar Master

A versatile companion to white meat, all kinds of fish and seafood, and any dish that is not too hearty. Also ideal as an aperitif and for social occasions.

Pale “candy pink” to salmon colour; on the nose a fine play of fruit with cherries, berries and other fruity notes; on the palate hints of Zweigelt, with elegant, juicy acidity and subtle fruit sweetness creating a charming combination – lively, light-footed and spirited, clean and coquettish, of remarkable quality and well received. A great outdoor wine with the potential to become a favourite at summer barbecues.

Level of Origin

The REGIONAL WINES & ESTATE WINES are the perfect introduction to the origin-based quality hierarchy. The wines come from the estate’s own vineyards and meet the strict quality standards of Weingut Zöhrer.
