The Ried Kremser Thurnerberg slopes toward the southwest and lies on a gravel terrace. Dominated by crystalline quartz rock—carried by the ancient Danube and deposited about 2 million years ago—a high plateau formed that lies more than 100 meters above the 1,000-year-old wine town of Krems and the present-day course of the Danube.

Yellow apple and dates wrapped in smoked bacon. Mineral, salty tobacco notes. A finely polished structure that clearly conveys the rock on which the old vines grow. Dense and compact with an international style and very great ageing potential.

Food Recommendation from the Cellar Master

The diplomat that pairs with a wide range of dishes: pink-roasted meat and rich sauces, asparagus with hollandaise, shellfish and seafood, pasta carbonara; a fine match for salmon steak with fennel and orange sauce, hard and semi-hard cheeses or cheese fondue.

Pale “candy pink” to salmon colour; on the nose a fine play of fruit with cherries, berries and other fruity notes; on the palate hints of Zweigelt, with elegant, juicy acidity and subtle fruit sweetness creating a charming combination – lively, light-footed and spirited, clean and coquettish, of remarkable quality and well received. A great outdoor wine with the potential to become a favourite at summer barbecues.
