VISION Kremstal—which embodies the very best of vineyard site, terroir, and grape variety from the oldest vines—has been in the hands of the Zöhrer family, the feudal lords of the estate, for generations. Grape selections from terraces, steep terraces, and very steep terraces—six of the finest vineyards on ancient rock, loess, and slate, some of which have been in the family since 1576—are bottled exclusively in very good vintages. Great storage potential!
Mature and powerfully opulent, evoking many associations such as pineapple and nougat as well as heritage apple varieties, concentrated and spicy; great substance without being overloaded, emphasising finesse above all despite its power, with fruit sweetness and persistence, salty and mineral on the finish – an all-round convincing, great Grüner Veltliner with even greater ageing potential.
Excellent with salad with nuts and pesto, Provençal vegetables, classic white-wine dishes with thicker, richer sauces, roast saddle of veal with pesto cream, mushroom dishes, mild cheese and spicier dishes with wild herbs. But also with a cigar or for quiet contemplation.
