The Zöhrer family’s vineyards, some of which have been in the family for over 450 years, are located around the wine town of Krems an der Donau on the stunning left bank of the Danube in the Kremstal Valley, 70 km west of Vienna.
The wooded hills of the Waldviertel provide protection from icy northwesterly winds. During the day, the sun warms the stony terraces, and at night, the fresh, aromatic forest air seeps through the Kremstal into the Kremser Bucht. The combination of hot days and cool nights, the flow of the Danube, and the geological and climatic diversity of the vineyards shape these internationally recognized wines.
The challenges grow just like our vineyards—steadily and consistently. Working with nature—in the cellar, in shipping, and even in our operations—often demands our all, body and soul. So now is the time for us, the Zöhrer family, to sincerely thank all our employees and partners—because we received news from afar: WE have earned 4 stars!
